In 1984 the Leeds Industrial Co- operative Society building in Beeston, Leeds, was acquired by the local Muslim residents and converted to KMWA Masjid and Community Centre. The Community centre and Masjid was formally opened in 1986. The first floor was dedicated for worship and the other two floors were used for community activities. Over the years the community increased and the building was no longer adequate to accommodate our activities. It was a regular occurrence to see people praying outside the building on Friday due to the lack of space. The management decided to find alternative accommodation to meet the needs of the community. By the grace of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى, the organisation purchased a plot of land from Leeds City Council in the heart of Beeston in 2010 and the ‘New Abu-Huraira Masjid Development Project’ began.
